Also, I'm really hoping the corresponding move isn't "Starling Marte to the DL." That would royally suck.

Good, a team finally calls up one of my fantasy "hope they get called up soon" guys. I was holding onto Yelich for like half the year before giving up and then he comes up and goes off. Hope Lambo does the same.

It would suck to lose his glove, but Marte hasn't been hitting well at all recently. I don't think it would be the worst thing in the world if it just gave him some rest and wasn't a serious injury.

I get the sense that Marte is not seriously injured and that Presley will be sent down. They won't have to remove someone from the 40 man to add Lambo.

You can only be stubborn for so long when you are wrong.

First of all, Lambo couldn't be any worse at the plate than Presley. Presley has failed more times than not, and quite frankly I'm tired of seeing him make out after out after out.

Secondly, how bad can Lambo be with his first name being Andrew? :D

Alright, lets see what he's got.

Worst case scenario, he's another Snider. That's been proven as something that's not insurmountable.

I'm expecting him to struggle with RISP and strike out a ton. Should fit right in.

Let's face it, EVERY player fails more often than not, right?? The guys who FAIL 7 out of 10 times for their career and Hall of Fame candidates!

Any guesses on who gets sent down?? For the 40 man roster, they can simply move the Fort to the 60 day DL.

Will it be Presley or Harrison?

I have a gut feeling it might be Marte to the DL

Everything is relative Animal. Roberto Clemente failed more times than not but I'd take him any day over Alex Presley! :D

Good for him. I hope he plays well.

With that said, my expectations are low.

Huntington. He should have given Lambo a shot sooner, in my opinion.

There will literally never be a burden of proof to prove that Huntington was "wrong" about Lambo. Only that if he doesn't perform well, there were reasons he was right to not be promoted until mid-August and spent 4 years in AA prior to breaking out. You think that the lack of promotion until now had nothing to do with his player development and was just Huntington being stubborn and actively trying to make the team worse in a year where his job is on the line? I happen to think it's more along the lines of being patient with a player with obvious flaws outside of the power department so that you don't have another Tabata/Presley/Snider on your hands. And, I say that as someone who was supportive of Lambo being up sooner.

Look, I love Lambo's story. Pretty much everyone (myself included) had him pegged as a non-prospect coming into this season. It goes without saying that the power surge carrying over to AAA is eye-opening. But the excitement over him is almost entirely based around the lack of internal RF options and the power numbers. Both of those are significant, of course, but it's also awfully dismissive of the other elements of Lambo as a player, hence the slow promotion. Tools-wise he is bad defensively and looks to have a K rate and OBP that could translate very poorly in the majors. Yes, the Pirates had nothing to lose to plug him into RF, but they did have something to lose in stunting his development out of desperation which obviously has plenty of flaws. We'll see what happens. I'm a little optimistic and maybe given his age his ceiling has the upside to be a Garrett Jones-type player. I think it's more realistic to think much smaller scale, but that's what he's here for.

He and Travis Snider have very similar minor league numbers.....FWIW.

Not saying he's doomed to be another Travis Snider, just saying that his statline doesn't really scream "ready". A high K rate is really difficult to overcome. We're seeing it with Jones this year. Pedro just happens to have otherworldly power and Marte has some inane ability to a) square a solid amount of pitches up and b) get hit by a lot of pitches to compensate for the lack of walks.
