With 52 games left, if the Bucs go 26-26.....

The cards with 53 games left, will have to go 28-25 to tie...

The reds with 53 games left, will have to go 32-21 to tie.....

The d backs with 52 games left, will have to go 36-16 to grab the wild card spot.....

Just sayin'.......... :D :D :D :D :D

I'm not sure my head/heart will be able to contain this excitement going down the stretch. We are a little far out but I'm ready for the "Magic Number" countdown to begin for each milestone.

Az - the Pirates control their own destiny. Win out and guarantee a spot.

I would really like to see them continue to play well against the Cardinals and not have to worry about the wildcard playoff.

21 years of futility! 21 years...The number 21 is the metaphor here. After 21 years of futility the Pirates with the best record in baseball are down 3-2 to the Atlanta Braves with 2 outs in the bottom of the 9th. Series tied at 3 games a piece. Russell Martin at 3rd and Gaby Sanchez at 2nd. Little Known pinch hitter Andrew Lambo lines a single over the head of the short stop. Sanchez lumbers around 3rd....Here's the throw to the plate......................................

Personally, living here in Florida, I am ready to stop hearing all of the retirees bitching about "another crappy season"
They talk to the younger fans like it's our fault. "Hello, I am just a fan and not playing on the field"

Come on Pirates - continue to do what got you this far and everything will just fall into place.

I can't tell you how many times I have hoped for this very scenario, should the Bucs make the playoffs...
