Boomer was great in 1987, but it's time to move on. Here are my suggestions for improvement

1) Let Boomer call one HR per batter...and I may be way to gracious in allowing that many. Oh, and put a shock collar on him and use it if he says the word BACK.
2) Quit making the contest the background for your dumb-ass interviews. You guys are like referees...we didn't come to watch you!
3) Bring in the "voice" of each player when they come up....for instance, let Greg Brown call his "Clear the Deck...cannonball comin'" when Pedro bats. I would love to hear announcers I don't usually get to hear calling HR for their own player. I would love to hear Bob Uecker, Vin Scully, Jon Miller or Dick Enberg.

You are running the HR Derby into the ground!

and please let them conduct the interviews in Espanol offline and simply have Pedro Gomez give his synapsis (preferably in between contestants and not while Pirates are batting!!!) so we only have to hear each question and answer once.

I couldn't agree with you more, Brad. I really like suggestion #3. With the exception of Pedro's turn, I muted the contest last night. I am soooo sick of his tired and annoying call.

I think I might have heard someone mention on the broadcast* that Bryce Harper is 20 years young. Did anyone else catch that?

I think I heard it mentioned. Did they discuss the fact that his father threw a cutter at all?

I don't think it's scientifically possible that a human being can watch an entire HR Derby if a member of their own team isn't in the finals.

I follow the Rays in the AL and Leyland didn't bother to put him in the game tonight at all.
Sorry off track from the topic...Back...back...back...
