Haven't done one of these in a while, let's take a trip around the minors on the last day of June ...

- Indianapolis suffered a rare loss to Columbus, 4-2. The Indians had six hits, none of which went for extra bases. Jose Tabata went 0-4 with 3 Ks and still hasn't hit at all during his rehab stint. Andrew Lambo drew a pair of walks. Ivan DeJesus Jr. went 2-4 and, in one of the only times I've seen this year he was moved out of the 8th spot in the order, all the way up to no. 2 (he has a .829 OPS on the year). As if the Hanrahan trade wasn't already an enormous win. Kris Johnson gave up 7 hits in 7 IP while striking out 6.

- Altoona beat Akron, 5-4. Adalberto Santos continues to cool off after his hot start to the season, going 0-5. Gregory Polanco drew a BB, going 0-4. Alex Dickerson continued his strong play of late by going 3-4 with his eighth HR and twentieth double. .968 over his last ten games. Nate Baker was okay in 4 IP but walked 3, and the usually reliable Zach Thornton blew a late lead before the Curve recovered.

- Bradenton's struggles continued as they lost their 48th game of the season to Palm Beach. Zach Dodson gave up 5 hits in 5 IPs while also walking 4 but kept the damage minimal. The Marauders line-up isn't now very interested with Polanco promoted outside of Allie. Speaking of which, it's worth noting that Allie is now HR-less in 40 ABs in high-A (small sample size of course, but he's also not hitting at all). Willy Garcia hit his twelfth HR, and his fourth of the last two weeks.

- West Virgina beat Lakewood, also 5-4. Josh Bell got the day off (or it might have been another one of those minor injury problems where he sits out a game, not sure). Barrett Barnes doubled. Raul Forunatuo (international signing from 2009) had three hits including a HR. Clay Holmes was decent, giving up 4 hits in 5 IP, striking out 4 and walking 2.
