I really don't mind a reasonable discussion about the value of different statistics. They have some merit, though I personally think you can go way too far into them and miss the forest for the trees. What I DO mind is people, especially those in the media who are trying to defend old positions, using those statistics to say that this is all smoke and mirrors and reminding us of collapses of teams that were not nearly the same team as we have seen this year. I don't really care what the statistics say about our run differential (which, by the way has spread out a bit in the last week). From my perspective, I prefer to apply this statistic- anything done once is repeatable, anything done over this period of time is far more repeatable. Other than that, I don't care about any other statistic than this:

49-30. The best in all the land.
