Would you rather have Pedro Alvarez finish the season hitting .280 with 20 home runs or hitting .220 with 35 home runs????

.280 with 35 HR's :D

Batting average is not determinative for me. But since Pedro's walk rate is "ehhh," he needs to hit .250 to be the kind of offensive contributor that merits batting clean-up.

If he hits .250 and walks a few times, he posts a .330 OBP. His slugging will be very good. VERY good. An OPS of .850 is very doable.

Yeah unless he's the king of doubles, I'm going with the 35 dingers and low average.

Still think he can split the difference between 220 and 280 and hit 35 out of the park, though.

Not to mention that it appears like McCutchen and Jones are on pace to put up well below their HR totals from a year ago (I always expected that the 30+ would be an outlier from McCutchen, and Jones is likely just age and natural regression). There is obviously some compensation in Marte and Martin considering the power production at their positions a season ago, but overall Alvarez's power asset is more significant than ever.

How many games do the Bucs win in each outcome?

That's the decisive fact.

Under each scenario, how many RBIs does he have?
