Last year, the Marlins were down on Gaby Sanchez, had him in the minors, and it seemed like he might be a good trade target on the cheap. Which he turned out to be.

Do the Mets still think highly of Ike Davis or might he be a worthwhile player to take a flier on? Especially given the way lefty power plays at PNC. I'm not familiar at all with the Mets though, and don't know if he's attainable.

I'm sure they could be talked out of him, but he has been horrible for a year and a half now. I
Just can't see the Pirates having an interest in him. IMO, he isn't an upgrade from
Inge. More pop but even less contact.

Here's a rotoworld report. He's done week since demotion.

Ike Davis will not be called up on Thursday.
That's what a club source told Mike Puma of the New York Post. ESPN New York's Adam Rubin wrote earlier this week that there was a "fair chance" of Davis returning to the Mets' active roster following the club's two-game series on the south side of Chicago, but it's apparently not going to happen right away. Davis is batting .306/.460/.714 with five home runs and 10 RBI in 15 games since his demotion to Triple-A Las Vegas. Jun 27 - 8:46 AM

Not so. He had a good second half last year. His numbers after the all-star break:

AB 251
HR 20
RBI 41
OBP .346
SLG .542
OPS .888

His road stats were MUCH better than those in Citi Field.

His OPS in the hitting-friendly PCL, btw, is 1.093 since he was sent down. He will be recalled soon. I doubt the Mets would give him away for a second-tier prospect - especially with them being desperate for hitting.
