Got stuck in Joliet today and couldn't work out joining the West Coast Chapter of UPPMB in Anaheim. But ... listening to 93.7 on my phone. Tony Sanchez is apparently on his way to Anaheim. That makes 3/5 of Huntington's 1st rounders ....

Sounds like Hurdle wants Sanchez to DH tomorrow (Angels throw a lefty).

That actually makes sense. I've been sitting here trying to figure out why they would carry 3 catchers and started to wonder if someone got hurt on the plane ride. Never even thought about the fact it's an interleague game.

Good to hear. He tweets congrats to his Indianapolis teammates every time one is called up and seems like a really good guy.

He had two really bad injuries when he was hit in the face, has come back and is having a really good year. His bat is, I posit, a slight upgrade over Brandon [Cr]Inge.

They have done similar things in recent years by calling someone up to DH in inter-league play ... I think that was when Presley got his first real promotion two years ago during a series in Toronto. I assume the corresponding move is for Cumpton to be demoted.

The fact that Tony Sanchez would even be considered as being called up to DH and help the team's offense is extraordinary considering prior to this season it was realistic to be skeptical if he would make the majors as a defensive catcher. It's easy to forget that he did hit well in the low minors though prior to having the year at AA which really diminished his value as a prospect. He has completely earned it this year posting the .951 OPS at AAA and with more power than he'd shown at any level previously (and with much fewer ABs). Always been a fan, I know it won't last with carrying three catchers but hopefully it starts McKenry's clock sooner rather than later.

Cumpton sent down in a corresponding move. Jeanmar against Seattle I guess? Probably swaps with Welker or Reid?

That would be nice.

Still a nightmare matchup vs. the King, but... it's an upgrade.

This Pirate offense better get the bats going and begin scoring runs...like 4 or 5 at least. And, they need to begin doing that more often than not.

Winning more ball games than not while only scoring 1, 2, or 3 runs per game ain't going to happen.

These guys need to step it up...everyone...or, the Bucs better go and buy or trade for a bat.

Reid or Welker I'd imagine. Extra bullpen arm probably doesn't hurt for the time being.

Why couldn't Cole pitch on Wednesday? It would be his normal day.
