Quote:
The Houston Astros have signed outfielder Jason Michaels to a one-year contract worth $750,000, plus incentives.

A team statement issued Monday says the 32-year-old right-handed swinger hit .224 with eight home runs and 53 RBIs in 123 games with the Cleveland Indians and Pittsburgh Pirates last season.

A below average major leaguer making a below average salary. Shouldn't be hard to replace.

Yes, he's not really needed considering the depth in the OF with McCutchen, Moss, Morgan, McLouth, and Pearce and the free agent Neal wants to bring in too...

There are plenty of better options...I'd like Johnny Gomes out of the bargain bin, Juan Rivera out of the not-quite bargain bin. Adam Dunn out of the I-really-need-to-stop-dreaming bin.

Yeah, it would be fun to see Barry finish out his career in Pittsburgh....until he got busted for injecting Geritoids, a dangerous mix of Geritol and steroids.

We don't need Michaels, but we do need another right-handed outfielder.

If nothing else, Barry would goose the gate.

It would be more fun if they made him wear the same size uniform he did when he left in 92...
