Tabata over Snider?

Tabata's been hot since May 11th (although he has really only had two breakout games followed by four PH's and two uneventful starts), he has had better results vs. RHP so far in 2013, and while Snider hasn't been that much better vs. RHP this year as opposed to LHP it's curious to see CH make this play. That is, if he's willing to bench Pedro due to a L vs. L, why is he content playing the just as inconsistent R Tabata vs. R Garza? Unless Snider is hurt, it's a bit of a headscratcher.

Throwing Gaby out there, another R vs. R matchup w/ Gaby sporting a .695 OPS (compared to 1.153 !!! vs. L's), is another WTF? Snider must be banged up, right???

(Both those moves feel like a 'why the two orders, Colonel?' situation. Maybe---that is, hopefully---CH learned from his benching of Pedro? Or maybe he's letting the manatee pick the rosters again?)

Getting to be Garza's first start of the year doesn't feel great either.

But whatever. Screw over-analysis and just win, baby.

Hurdle was quoted that he had originally slated Sunday as a "sit" day for Marte because he wanted Marte to get 48 hours off. That he was seeing some things with Marte that he didn't want to share with the media (he said that it was not his job to tell the media 100% of what he sees). However, because McCutchen couldn't go on Sunday, Marte was put back into the lineup. I don't envision that this is anything more than Hurdle giving Marte a full two days off. Marte will be leading off against Samardrxaoij489andoaria (or however you spell his name) tomorrow.

Well...which Pirate offense will show up tonight?

I hope they can put more runs on the board versus how many runs they scored against Houston...

Jones appeared to make his mind up to swing before the ball was delivered.

Ugh, Garza with a two run double. It looks like our Buccos will need a heavy night with the lumber to pull this one out. We've got a long way to go!

Didn't the Cubs sweep the Pirates at home at one point last season? :?

Took 2 of 3 to start the year. The bats need to heat up. Currently the approach is take a fastball down the middle for strike one, swing at a slider for strike 2, as Garza finishes them off somewhere in the count.

Pedro, how bout getting that uniform dirty, anyone?

The bats have been slow. Didn't they win a game against Houston going 0- fer with runners in scoring position?

Can't play possum this game.

If we score(outside of a tator) on this guy, I will be surprised. He spots FB well and has nasty off speed stuff. Cutch seems like the only one to have him figured out. Let's get into their bullpen.

Wow...the baseball Gods owe Cutch a large handful of bloop hits. He has been killing the ball lately but hitting it right at people, or getting robbed.

If Garza, only scheduled to throw 90 pitches, rides a no hitter into the 7th will Dale pull him?
