He hurt his back originally, then somehow his elbow is hurt too...

Maybe it was all that emergency catcher practice Jordy Mercer couldn't do?

This is the perfect scenario. We still have McDonald as a backup plan for later if necessary, but Mercer gets the playing time.

If you guys could start a bail fund for me, I could rough him up during his rehab assignment in Altoona to keep Mercer in Pittsburgh.
