Reid Brignac was DFA'd by the Rockies and according to John Heyman, the Pirates and Twins have interest.

Might not mind bringing him in, he doesn't walk much but he's still hitting .250 and is only 27. Plays 2B/SS and lets you get Mercer every-day reps down in AAA for the year.

Something to keep an eye on, I suppose. He's been mentioned with the Pirates before, usually when he was with the Rays.

If the Bucs HONESTLY want to bring John McDonald back after his injury, they might as well sign Bill Mazeroski. He could probably play as good of D, and has a better stick!

Let's see ...

38-year old non-prospect, right-handed hitter, no power, no speed, declining defense, no walks, no power, no hitting, no speed, no nothing.

Or 27-year old lefty hitting MI'er with proven pop, and a cannon for an arm.

Hmm. I may need to ponder this for a billionth of a second.

No, actually, I don't.

Brignac would be a nice pick-up.
