Did you see Walker jump on that fastball down the middle on the first pitch and line that single up the middle.

YOu have been a bit better lately on first ball hitting, but that's how its done.

I think he's been trying to, but he's missing it. I seem to have seen him foul back a ton of first pitch fastballs.

Bassoon Director wondered recently in another post about his vision. I had to wonder the same thing the other night watching him swing right through an 89 mph fastball down the middle. He also swung and missed at a changeup that he was not out in front of, and it was a strike. He's just not seeing the ball for whatever reason. But yes, I do think he needs to think up the middle a little more. He doesn't have to pull a ball to get it over the fence.

He's been flat-out missing mediocre fastballs right down the middle.

Those streaks have to be reduced and the hot ones have to be extended if he's going to become a true middle-of-the-order hitter.
