Like mentioned earlier, they already have a long term deal in place for what, another 5 years of control?

Even the Indian's signing of Albert Bell, et. al. waited longer than this.

I would make an exception if Marte's ability to draw walks rises dramatically, but I doubt that. Too much of Vlad the ripper in him.

I remember a player who played for Atlanta that had similar success early in his career. I believe his name was Jeff Francouer. Seems comparable to Marte.

Francouer can neither run nor play defense anywhere near the level of Marte..... 8-) 8-)
