Has there been any reporting of which anyone is aware regarding whether Walker is capable of swinging a bat? I think that a decision on whether to DL him was set for today and hinged upon whether he could swing a bat.

Reports that Mercer is getting called up just a few minutes ago likely means Walker to the DL. Of course, I hope that actually means that McDonald is released, but it's likely the DL move.

I don't get it. Six stitches in the meat of his hand...how do you not DL him right away? I guess they can make it retroactive, but the point is we played short-handed for days. I think I would err on the side of DLing him right away and getting another body up here.

This pure stupidity. Absolutely no reason not to put him on right away. I understand it's a tough decision, but these circumstances from the outside looked pretty straight forward. And you are right doug, it put us at a disadvantage.

....or maybe Tabata to the DL? Anybody hear anything about his hamstring?

It's stupid though that the Bucs did not DL Walker right away. This is something they do every year.

Agree 100%... Why wait a week until, then make it retroactive? It's stupid if you ask me.

Guess I should have read ALL of these before I commented! You are all right. Dumb decision, any way you look at it!
