He's playing AA in the Toronto organization.

Judging from his past numbers, I'd have to imagine that Sands is just off to a really slow start.

Hope so, but I'm worried this might be transcending a typical slow start. Those numbers are absolutely putrid for a guy in AAA for the third time. The average is one thing, the fact that he also has 0 HRs and just two XBHs is another. I personally had a little higher hopes for him, but at the very least if he was going to be the AAAA-type player he has been, you'd hoped he would be a better depth option than, say, Matt Hague. Hopefully he turns it around but he will need to do so pretty quickly to not look like a complete bust.

Robinson continues to rake in the minors. Really wish the Pirates had kept him on their 40-man roster and put him in AAA.

Why not? Do the Pirates have so many left-handed, power-hitting, draws-walks, high OBP guys in their organization that Robinson was not worth protecting? If so, then why trade for him?

Having him as a backup plan, 'last resort', or whatever you want to call it, might have been a good decision, but at this point in his career it's entirely likely that Robinson is just a really good MiLB player.

If he becomes another Joey Bats or GFJ 'late bloomer' we'll all just have to curse under our breath.

He better be raking it, since he is in the Eastern League.

Buffalo is Toronto's AAA team and former Pirates (Major and Minor League guys) on the team include Andy LaRoche, Jim Negrych, Brad Lincoln and Miguel Batista

Saw something that Holt might be DFA'd...

If that's true, then...

Just researched this and it looks like someone on Twitter (not exactly sure who he works for, but he just reports on all kinds of all team's news) speculated that Holt might be DFA'd to make room for Jose De La Torre being called up, but Hanrahan being moved to the 60-day DL actually did it. And it looks like he apologized to Holt directly for the bad reporting.

Saw that. Hanrahan was a really good pitcher for the Buccos, liked him a ton, and was seriously bummed to read about his surgery.

He is basically the only Red Sox player I like.
