Two Homeruns, a base hit, and a hit batter...Then tossed.

This is going to hurt more than you think. With the demand on the bullpen with Sanchez not even finishing 1 inning could hurt the entire 3 game series against the division leaders. This isn't good. Gotta be done with Sanchez. Period. Karstens or Liriano has to toughen up and get ready NOW. I'm normally a positive guy, but this bad outing could have a huge negative effect. Really disappointed right now.

On the bright side, he should be available to pitch tomorrow...

Well we hadn't been getting much out of our starting pitching until recently.

You designate Sanchez for assignment and bring someone up from AAA. And pray tomorrow's starter can go 7.
Of course you can forfeit tonight and start again tomorrow.

Sanchaz is this years Erik bedard. Speaking of, I saw bedard start for the Astros last weekend. He's still in the majors?

Sanchez getting tossed was laughable. He isn't going to get another start and hell probably be dfa'd. But tossing the guy? Really because of a pitch up and in?

And after a warning and now two hit batters, the same player, Lynn is still in the game?

The umpires continue be an embarrassment. But Bud Selig just sits there and counts his money. It's a travesty.

Why should owners or the commissioner care? They're rolling in the dough, secure in the knowledge that basketball players got their asses handed to them in the last strike (so they have less to worry about from future labor negotiations) and that fans will keep paying through the nose to see these kind of travesties.

Well they have to release Sanchez and bring someone else up for the pen. Then, maybe in 5 days, make another move and bring up a starter. I think I'd rather see JGomez start than Sanchez.

Actually this might be a long game....Release him now. How long's a flight from Indy to SL? Maybe we can have someone there by the end of the game. Activate Walk! Would anyone really be WORSE than Sanchez?

Gomez and possibly Hughes depending on how long he goes will probably be done for the series. The guy that will be called up will either be a spot starter depending on when Sanchez is released or it'll be the permanent replacement. Liriano or Morton.

Lynn should been tossed at least the second time Marte was plunked. Especially after a warning. Both pitches were up and in to Marte .

Consistency is the word of the day.

Pirates + 1 hit batter = a taxed bullpen.
Cardinals + 2 hit batters + a warning = a fresh bullpen.

Well, no use in keeping Sanchez past tomorrow! And we won't need another starter for 5 days, so why bring up a starter now?

Tuned in just in time to see the umpire call Jones out on a called strike three on a ball a good 6" off the outside corner.

How bad was the pitch? Jones did not swing at it - and the horrendous umpire called strike 3,

Not even close, Bedard was actually very good for two months last year. The whole Sanchez experiment defied logic. Now they have Irwin and KMac hurting so who do you go with? My guess is some RP help for the next few days (probably Morris) then start Gomez for one turn before Liriano is healthy.
