Not listed on any of Direct Tv's lineup. Supposed to be on MLB but that is blacked out.

What gives?

The Pirates are on TV on the MLB Network Corsair. The Pens are on ROOT Sports tonight against Ottawa. ROOT Sports and the MLB Network worked out a deal to cover the Bucs if the Pens are playing on the same night.

It should be on the MLB Network Corsair. I'm watching the game right now.
Pedro just hit a line drive HR to RF. Bucs 1 Phils 0

Once again blackout rules prevent me from watching the game in Philly.

It is blacked out on my MLB package and on MLB network, presumably due to coverage by the regional sports network. Only problem with that is that the regional sports network is owned by Comcast, so those of us with directv also have that blacked out.

This is ridiculous. Won't get to see any games this week.

I got a live look in on 213 MLB network. They showed AJ pitching to Young and then cut away to Boston.

The Pirates Phils are scheduled to be on 214 and it is blacked out for me.

I don't know why. The Astros are in the AL now.

Got a little lucky here in Dover with the regional Philly channel. It is on here via Fios.

It's not on my "regular" MLB network. I had to do a search to find it.

The replay of the game is shown on ROOT right after the Pens coverage. That's not so bad for you guys in later time zones. My provider does't offer MLB so I had to stay up and avoid all media until 11:00.

Don't know exactly why but here's my guess. MLB Network likely agreed to pick up the games where ROOT is carrying the Pirates BUT is only showing those games in the region where ROOT broadcasts and it is blacked out in other regions. It would be similar to a situation where you subscribed (either cable or DirecTV) to a "sports package" and could watch regional sports networks but have MLB games blacked out. I'm betting that MLB Network is just "stepping in" to provide the ROOT coverage for where it would be seen but for the Penguins game.

Just a hunch . . . but makes sense based upon what I've read here.

If Comcast and DirecTV would "play nicely" with each other in the sandbox, you wouldn't have this issue.

That would explain it. From what I gathered speaking with DTV csr reps last night, any games played in Philadelphia will be blacked out on DTV (MLBEI, MLB etc). The fact that you're a Comcast subscriber allowed your feed into MLB tv which was blacked out for DTV subscribers. This crap makes me miss Curt Gowdy, Tony Kubek and Joe Garagiola. Not really :) but it sure was simpler then.

I think that's exactly what's been going on. Every time the Penguins have played we get the Root broadcast on MLB TV, which has been great. But people outside the area don't get it.

Except for tonight. MLB TV is showing the Cards/Nats so I'm on the computer getting some stuff done.

No TV sucked, I think it must have been due to the Pens game being a non-scheduled game and they could not adjust on the fly.

My phone is dumb. Does that really work? I bought this great big HD TV to watch the game on. I don't know if I'd enjoy watching it on a 3 inch screen. My eyes are the same age as the rest of my body.
