Hey! What a call by the ump for strike three there. J Sanchez might even be able to go four here with 7-8-9 next inning. He was missing the plate my miles though last inning. We'll see...

Nice work getting through the last two innings after issuing leadoff walks. Total cut that out though.

Don't worry Hughes we're behind you.

Maybe, but where runs are a premium coming through with two straight two out rho singles is huge.

7th inning with a chance to break it open is turning the other way. Huge at bat for Pedro coming. Could've pinch hit for Jones.

Russell Martin got the memo that D "Russell Martin Was A Stupid Signing" K is in the Press Box today. Getting on base, scoring a run, steering Sanchez and Gomez through tough innings and nailing base runners.

The Atlanta Braves versus MLB *(minus the Pirates) this season - 2 losses.
The Atlanta Braves versus YOUR Pittsburgh Pirates this season - 3 losses.

'nuff said!

I was going to start a thread, noting that No. 9 must appreciate Martin's work behind the plate today. Those two strike-em-out, throw-em-out double plays meant the difference in the game.

Both times, the next Braves hitter got a base hit. If the runner steals the base - as we saw almost every time last year - the Braves score a run.

The lack of scoring those runs meant that the Braves used their "B" team from the pen, and the Pirates added another run.

Oh, and I love hearing those a-hole Braves announcers so depressed.

It was beautiful. Live the enthusiasm that Martin brings to the game.

I WOULD, but moved to KS. Every time the Bucs come to SEA I'm out of the state! :x

Thanks for the heads up. Maybe I'll have to take leave.

Solid ball during the home stand. Raise it up. Carry the momentum on.

Philly has one of the weaker performing pitching staffs thus far. Hopefully the bats explode.

I will be at the game tomorrow night I will try to give a game report with some pics. Excited to see AJ pitch live. Also the bats are heating up and the ball carries well in philly

Martin is huge improvement defensively. Pirates catchers never threw anybody out before.
