I've seen similar threads on other team's boards.

I'll start.

In his first PA last night, even though he grounded out, he made contact with the ball on each of his four swings of the at-bat. He didn't swing-and-miss once.

His ears stay warm on cold days.

He has a rocket for an arm.

He plays in Pittsburgh. If he played with any other team the crush of criticism would destroy him. His leash is very, very long here.

He's probably the only person in the world that doesn't think the sky is falling because of his poor start. (Does that count as positive?)

At least he's swinging at strike three instead of standing there and watching strike three go across the plate?... :? :D  :D

He has improved his plate discipline.

He has an awesome nickname.

He keeps the board active and therefore 'unites' Pirates fans across the US. :D

He's beaten out Craig Wilson for #1 on my Most Frustrating Pirate list!

He went to Horace Mann School in New York, among the famous alumni having also gone there first and foremost in my heart, is Paul Zimmerman, Doctor Z, of Sports Illustrated. Among less famous less alumni, the most notable is LN, the girl who took my virginity.

His BA is 1.000 in games that don't count.

The only thing "frustrating" about Craig Wilson was the organization's reluctance to give him the playing time he deserved. He should have started way more often than Kevin Young (though they get a slight pass given the ridiculous contract Young was given by Bonifay), and afterward they still constantly undervalued and overlooked Wilson in favor of giving more playing time to awful veteran FA signings like Randall Simon and Sean Casey (and those are just the big ones, considering Wilson could play multiple positions he was blocked by several other worse stopgaps despite his excellent track record in the minors and in limited big league opportunities). Wilson is one of my all-time favorite Pirates, and I always use him as an example of a singular microcosm of what was wrong with the Littlefield era. He was a young player and bright spot on a lot of bad Pirates teams, only posting two sub-.800 OPS figures in six seasons and hitting for decent power, even when limited to just PH opportunities, yet they consistently preferred appallingly worse options than him, seemingly only because they were veterans. A true shame his post-Pirates career turned out so poorly.

This is very similar to Garrett Jones and his situation. They are constantly bringing in guys to take his position, yet he keeps out-producing all of them. He certainly is not perfect, but does okay...but fans constantly want to bash him.

Pedro's walk-up song is "Juicy" by Notorious B.I.G. (whoever they are). Oh wait, that isn't a compliment.
