Apparently the Bucs have established a "leadership council". And apparently there are also five additional co-captains.

Quote:
The members — one each to represent the starting pitchers, relievers, infielders, outfielders and catchers — were voted upon by the team. In essence, they are the team captains and will meet intermittently to act as a conduit between all the players and manager Clint Hurdle.

Seems very middle-schoolish to me, but hey, it worked last night. ;)

The local press has been raving about Cutch's new leadership presence and how he is so much more vocal now. He is the guy who should lead and if he's ready to do so now then great!

I agree John. Every team needs leaders, and one of the marks of the truly great teams is that their leaders are their best players. And there's no doubt who the guy is for Pittsburgh.

If you were watching the Pittsburgh feed last night I'm sure this was all over it, but I thought this was pretty great ... a bunch of Pirates fans took over the pool at Chase Field in Arizona last night: http://pittsburgh.pirates.mlb.com/video ... 5&c_id=mlb

Loved Cutch's response to ROOT's Robby I's idiotic post-game question last night. When asked what is the key to not panicking, he replied, "The key to not panicking is not to panic".

BTW, Robby I. makes me long for Lacey. Where do they find these people?
