Dejan can go and bleep himself.

http://www.whygavs.com/pittsburgh-pirat ... -suck.html

If #Pirates fans were REMOTELY as demanding of their team as those of other two in town, they’d be cheering a winner, too.

Right, Dejan. It only took 40 years of empty stands before the Steelers got serious. That and revenue sharing, followed by a salary cap.

It only took the Pens a much shorter time of poor attendance before they got serious. That and a salary cap.

I just can't read the guy any more.

I love reading him. He writes what the majority of fans think. You don't have to agree with everything he says (and I don't) but I love the passion. Media walks the line so much these days it's good to have a "homer" for the good guys.

I don't get what he is claiming.

That the Pirates would be winners if only Pirates fans "demanded that the team win" with greater vigor?

Okay, I demand that the Pirates go 162-0 in the regular season and 11-0 in the playoffs.

Really, I do. Is that enough? Will that help them win?

You guys need to realize that he said this on Twitter. He's got over 20,000 Tweets at 142 words or less. You can dissect anyone's Twitter account and find something wrong with their opinions.

Not enough vigor. Say it like this: I DEMAND that the Pirates win NOW!!!

When the Pirates suck, the public doesn't go to their games. When they win, the public goes to their games. What else should they do? Do they want death threats for Alvarez like Kordell got? Maybe Photoshop Clint Hurdle as a Walmart greeter?

You think that repeating what the average fan thinks back to him is some kind of skill? It isn't. The average fan doesn't know what the hell he's talking about, and Dejan knows that to be true. He can write. It's tragic that he is now just choosing to turn himself into an echo just because he's pissed off at the current management team for reasons that have nothing at all to do with how good or bad the franchise is.

Quote:
You don't have to agree with everything he says (and I don't)...

Now that depends on what you're disagreeing with, doesn't it? He wasn't all that gracious with those who took issue with his anti-Seal training crusade, or anybody who cared to point out the many, many flaws in the ridiculous column he wrote comparing Huntington's draft results to Littlefield's.

Quote:
...but I love the passion.

As far as I can make it out, his "passion" comes from the facts that he didn't want them to trade Sanchez and Wilson, and he's pissed because he claims that somebody in the front office lied to him about the Seal training. That's passionately clinging to a grudge.

Good guys? He's a homer for the Bullish-types.

Feel free to point out how it is any fan's fault that the Pirates have sucked for two decades. What could I as a fan have done to turn them into winners?

Well, geez, sisyphus, look at my post above.

I mean, I went to the trouble of providing a picture ...

It wouldn't work. You'd have to go to a game wearing a bag over your head, then walk out mid-game and never return. That's the only way to get Nutting to decide to lose millions of dollars a year to give us better entertainment.

I don't know, sisyphus. If you've ever known a little girl who wanted something - hoo-boy, game on.

DK was always on the edge.
Sitting next to him at 3RS was highly embarrassing, as he jumped up and down venting his spleen on all and sundry. Some of his heckling had an element of humour; most was just vitriolic; much was incomprehensible.
It would seem that he has now transposed this attitude into print.

It also helped they sucked and got high draft picks like Malkin, Fleury, and oh the lottery pick of Crosby.

The Pens also kept an eye on Fleury's time on the big club so his bonuses didn't bump his salary.

Pirates management should bring this girl in for a motivational speech:
