It may be a case of a guy just saying all of the right things, but Martin fairly gushed over the "live arms" the Bucs have in camp, saying he hasn't seen a collection of arms this live anywhere he's been in 9 years. We're talking Dodgers and Yankees here. It does give me hope in one respect, though. So much of pitching is the conviction that your stuff is good enough. And maybe all it takes to put you over the top is your (reputable) catcher having the guts to put down the fingers, pound his mitt a couple of times, and say "Bring it!" If the pitchers believe in him, this could be great.

I have high hopes that Martin can make a big difference, especially with his pitch framing skills. Also his bat is going to help, at least compared to Barajas.

As much as we like to bash Barajas now, during the first half last year he did a really good job handling the pitching staff.
