Every year I get a new Pirates hat and retire last year's hat for lawn mowing. I got my new hat yesterday. The twist this year is that I bought my hat in a store in Pittsburgh, across from PNC Park. The last time I bought a hat in Pittsburgh was 1991. I'm ready for the season (but not ready to mow). Let's go Bucs!

Yeah the Mustard lid will be a hot item in Pittsburgh this summer. They have a giveaway the Father's Day game, so if you plan right you can get one for free.

OK, I will take that as a positive omen. What else did you "only" do in 1991? That's gotta be on your bucket list.

Same as always... traditional black hat with the Gold "P." The mustard ones from the early '70's looks good, though.

In 1991 I was newly married and didn't have kids yet, so not sure what else I could safely repeat from the era for good luck this year. However, I just had the DirecTV guy on my roof today and upgraded to HD (finally). The first HD show I'm watching will be Pirate's Rewind tonight on RootSports to see the Buccos beat the hated Reds. THAT ought to be a good luck omen for the season!
