Both these kids could be the exact excitement we need going forward. I know they are not ready for the ML yet but how long? Are they coming to spring training? Many of you are much more on top of the system and surely have incites for the rest of us. We all know about the young arms coming but what about offense in these two-- a ss we sure need and another outfielder to go with Cutch and Marte.

It's probably 2+ years for each of them. It's a long wait, I know. Meanwhile, I say they are untouchable, no matter where we are in the standings.

2015 is an optimistic projection for Hanson/Polanco to reach the PBC. Remember, neither of these guys has played a single professional baseball game above low A. They need to get to Altoona in short order if they want to make the jump sooner...

Sub, they will both start in advanced A ball at Bradenton. If they do well they may get a taste of AA like Taillon did last year. You are looking at 2 1/2 years most likely, but you never know they could force managements hand. It does look like Hanson can stick at SS now, for him he needs to lower his K rate. I actually think Polanco is the safer prospect because of his advanced plate discipline and power. Don't forget Josh Bell who will be on a similar time frame and has a similar ability/ceiling. Also keep in mind Barrett Barnes who could start at advanced A ball too, he has a good speed/power mix with good plate control.

At the A ball level we have two interesting catchers, Wyatt Mathisen and Jin De-Jhang and a couple of good bats 2B Dilson Herrera, OFs Elvis Escobar and Harold Ramirez. There are also last year's potential breakouts that did not fully emerge like 1B Jose Osuna and OF Willy Garcia.

In the mean time, I've been surprised by how positive some have been regarding Alex Dickerson who will start at AA this year. Some really believe he will hit enough to be a MLB 1st baseman. Besides him we still have some hopes for guys like Sanchez and Gift.

Ideally the SP comes up, gets established then the new bats arrive and fuel a contender.

We should trade Hanson, Polanco, Taillon and Marte for Mike Stanton.

I think Mike Stanton retired a few years back. ;)

Oh that's right. Maybe we could get his son, Giancarlo.

I would part with at least 2 out of 4 of those mentioned, however. Instant contender. Strong contender.
