High school student Eri Yoshida was drafted by the Kobe 9 Cruise, a professional team in a new independent Japanese league that starts its first season in April.

She's 5 feet tall and throws a side arm knuckle ball...She wants to be Tim Wakefield

I'll be darned. I figured that one day a woman would come along who could crank her fastball up to about 85mph and use that, a good breaking ball and pinpoint control to make it. I never even thought of a knuckleballer. Shoot, we could have a 13 year old knuckleball phenom come along.

Maybe the Pirates need to see about buying her contract, or maybe offer a trade for Paulino to get her...

Paulino would be big in Japan...

I threw a Matt Morris curve ball and was just waiting for someone to knock it out of the park...

BBF- A mind is a terrible thing to waste....and in Paulino's case, a waist is a terrible thing to mind.

Dan- Isn't a shame that we can make Paulino and Morris references and every Pirate fan knows what the heck we are talking about.

I still hold belief that this will turn around and we'll have a good laugh about the Matt Morris-Jeremy Burnitz-Raul Mondesi-Derek Bell era Pirates...and to rub it in Bullish's bandwagon face...

If she's hot, I suggest the Pirates sign her. They need something to draw people to game.s

Pedophilia apparently abounds on the UPPMB.
