Clint Robinson is definitely an interesting acquisition, though as per usual a lot of that interest in inflated by the Pirates dismal 1B options. Mega-blocked in Kansas City with Butler and Hosmer, his last three years in the minors (AA, AAAx2) were very good, but his power dipped a lot last year. It looks like his plate discipline has been solid. Granted if Sanchez and Jones both stayed healthy, it would be hard to see Robinson being a bench asset in the fold, I suppose it just depends on what the Pirates are trying to get out of RF and what they have planned for Snider/Tabata as far as how much time Jones will be spending there.

I realize that the acquisition of Robinson pretty much makes Hague obsolete, organizational fodder, but I'm a little surprised that Hague (and even Navarro) were the first cut loose with the DFAs while someone like Chad Beck survives.

Mazzaro could mean trouble for Karstens.

I've liked Clint for years now, I wonder if he will get any shot in Pittsburgh? I guess if Jones is dealt or plays RF then he would have a shot, probably not.

I like Zach Stewart too, he should do well in the NL and could provide depth for the rotation.

Vin Mazzaro seems like a stretch due to poor control, but maybe he can be a reliever in the NL? He did have a high K rate in the minors.

Low risk/(possible) high reward moves.

Of course, watch one of those Dominican kids turn into the next Aroldis...

Decent enough moves, but the Bucs still need a legit move to support it.
