The Pirates finally talked Perry Hill into the first base coaching/infield instructor position....good hire!

Also, Chris Duffy declared himself a free-agent after blowing off his assignment to the Mexican League after 3 games. Good riddance...the kid is a defensive talent and could reel in his ego enough to still make it somewhere, but it was never going to be in Pittsburgh.

Duffy seems more like a headcase than egocentric. Nothing against the guy, but I don't see big things for him in the future.

I gave up on Duffy when he decided he needed time to think about whether or not he wanted to make millions playing a kids game.

Perhaps "strong-willed" would be a better choice to describe him. Whatever it is, I know I used to get spanked for it.

I gave up on him when it became obvious that he couldn't hit. Either way, don't let the door hit ya on the way out, Chrissy.

He'd swing and miss it...
