Every year my CFO and I have a friendly 6 pack wager on who will end up with the better record, the Mets or the Pirates.

I'm down 18 beers to none right now.

We're six games ahead of the Mets.

Listen here Buccos, I am NOT going to be happy if I buy the beer again this year. You better take this series.

I used to have a bet with my brother-in-law every year about whether the bucs would finish in the top half or bottom half of the division every year. Dinner for the winner. He took mercy after about 10 years.

Good luck!

Better go buy some really bad beer, 'cause today is not looking too promising...

Really bad beer won't do it. Winner's Choice.

He usually goes for a dark. We shop here: http://www.mybeersoftheworld.com/

Right up the street from our office.

I had my Dixie Blackened Voodoo all picked out.

That Blue Moon tastes pretty good. Kind of a smooth orangish taste. If it's good enough for Sammy Hagar, it's good enough for me. :D

It's a wheat-based beer, my favorite. Their seasonal blends, particularly the summer and the fall (pumpkin), are REALLY good.

All things being equal, I'm glad this thread has turned into being more about the beer.

Wild understatement.

It's PHENOMENAL.

Pyramid's Apricot Ale ain't too shabby either.

Well, that's because we were all afraid you would lose the bet. But with the win tonight, your 6 pack number is down to one.

Never would have guessed so much love for fruity, chick beers around here. ;)

I'm an IPA man.

Southern Tier IPA is currently my go to beer. Since they sell it at the corner. Late. Every day.

As wheat beers go, River Horse Double Wit is easily my favorite, although it's usually only available in the spring time. (Amazingly, it's on sale now.) River Horse also has a great imperial pumpkin ale ("Hipp-O-Lantern") this season that I highly recommend.

But as for me, I prefer brown ales, porters and stouts, and my top picks in each category are Abita's Turbo Dog, Stone Smoked Porter, and Great Divide's Yeti.

By the way, I love beer threads.

C'mon Buccos. Do me right tonight. It's Dickey tomorrow.....

And I would appreciate no one quoting me on the above. It looks rather... suggestive.

Aww, I was going to use that as my new sig. I'd even credit you. No. Really.

Since thinking about the Pirates is so depressing these days, this might be the only fun I'd have here on this board...
