Wow, they actually printed that thing. I wonder if it made the print version, or just the on-line version. If it made the former, just another sign that print journalism is at an end...

I had trouble determining whether that was a joke or in earnest. I'm inclined to think the latter, which might make it even funnier.

Why not? They print Jack Kelly's column every week.

This isn't a forum for religion or politics, but as a Christian, I have no problem with the "Zoltan" thing. I respect that guy's opinion, but don't agree. I think God has a sense of humor and I am confident that he isn't holding the players or fans liable for worshiping an idol. If anyone in sports is placing a "God before him," it is the almighty dollar.

So, as a good Christian, I'll continue to flash the "Z" when our boys do well and continue to enjoy every good thing that happens to this team!

A little inside information: The author of this letter is the head pastor at Aldan Union Church outside of Philadelphia. Some of my Philadelphia-based evangelical Christian relatives were longtime members of this church. He is being serious and he is really a Pirates fan.

Wouldn't it be great if God did determine the WS winner based on the contents of their heart?

The Yanks would NEVER win!

That could be because you aren't insane.
