I live with an A's fan. A few months ago I was telling him about the 2011 Pirates and how his team didn't really have that much talent but this is a start that pushed them to a 2012 Pirates type of year. Then about a month and a half ago our teams were in the same position. Now this. The Astros. 7 to nothing, at the hands of the G damned Astros! While the not even that talented A's are 20+ over in the AL freaking West.

Guh.

Oh, and the Cespedes argument that we had in March? If you were anti-Cespedes you lost.

There you go Jones! 7 to 1!

And Presley is up next. Why? I must have missed that happening at Laserwolf. Why is Presley following Jones?

Yeah, but at least there are no ex or washed out Pirates on the team having a breakout year or anything...

McDonald looks like he's in mid season form

Was it just me or did McDonald look like the last place on ear5h he wanted to be was on that mound last night. Hos body language just looked like resignation and he just kept flopping lousy curve after lousy curve. What happened to him? If it is not injury or fatigue, then what? Really wonder if we can count on him next year.

Two more days, two more losses to the Astros. Sigh. I don't think we're going to make it to 81 wins. There was a thread back in early August posting what sort of numbers we'd have to have to break even, and I remember just laughing at how impossible that seemed. This has been the worst month and a half of any team I've ever followed. And we still have two weeks left. I mean, I've spent the past month or so being happy for the O's and Nats, my two local teams, but I've exhausted my happy pills and now I'm just really really grumpy. I'm just ticked that the Os are breaking their 0 for 14 streak while we're looking at season number 21.

I wasn't going to be quite that negative, but that thought has crossed my mind.
