The first two Pirates to file were Minky and Chris Gomez. No Michaels yet.

Pirates declined Michaels' option....

Good. No reason to hold on to Michaels. Bench players like him are quite fungible.

Add Rivas to that list so that frees up 4 spots.

I did some research and they don't have to protect McCutcheon like I had first mentioned in a different thread. They do have to protect Neil Walker.

Jeff Sues, Jamie Romak and Evan Meek will take the other three spots.

Anyone else they want to add, they will have to dump some people.
