Finishing with a winning record would go along way with this franchise. Not a second straight total collapse.

I agree, I am not in the camp that says a winning record is unimportant.

But No

Sixteen games over .500 and they completely fold again, two years in a row. This one is worse than last year. Twenty seasons under .500, a national laughing stock.

Can't wait till they are a few games up next July and the national media. "The Pirates? Oh Yeah.... HA.....HA...Ha! They'll get it right this time!"

Disgraceful! I'm done!

Why is it that we focus on the bad and not the good to the point of ranting like this? As a fan, wasn't 16 games over a hell of a lot of fun. I was at a lot of games during that mid summer stretch and I had a blast. Sure, I'm pissed now, but it doesn't erase how much fun the team brought me earlier this year. Its such a common mentality around here, I'm done with them, yeah right, you're done until the next winning streak.

It's because the letdown has been so dramatic. We really thought we had a good team. Now we don't. We really thought we were going to break the streak. Now it looks like we are not.

It ain't crap. Its based on media revenue and we don't get near as much out of a TV deal as LAA or TEX, just a fact. If you can't accept that you might as well cheer for a different team. The Pirates will always be in the bottom 3rd in payroll unless the heaven's shake and a cap is introduced.

Who is the fucking moron that signed the 18 million a year TV contract on a 10 YEAR DEAL when our talent stream was just starting to emerge from the minors? Talk about short sighted!!!

You think last year & this year we are still 23rd?

Wasn't it the locked in TV deal that turned Pittsburgh native and deep pocket Dallas maverick owner away from buying the team. Or part of it? Do owners even make profit on this game? My economics are terrible.

Thing is, I am not even upset about the team tanking after the break again. I was at first when it started, but now it just feels like 'this is what being a Pirate fan feels like' and I just don't care. :(
