Nothing like Presley-Barmes-Barajas to kill a rally...

Yeah...sadly I have more faith in our pitchers doing something with the bat than those guys...

Big play by Holt to end the inning and preserve the tie.

After the day I've had, I could really use a win tonight...

How embarrassing is it to be outsmarted by Dusty Baker? Pathetic.

I always looked at it as if the Pirates could fuck up a wet dream.

They would wake themselves up by snoring too loud!!!

Dear Santa,

I would like a catcher who can throw a baseball to 2nd base on the fly. As always, thank you very much.

Well just yippee skippie. This is just fucking great. Excuse my language. I should be used to this. And the Yankees think they got it tough

Well, that was fun. 6 in a row and counting. By this time next week we will be looking up at the Phillies and Brewers. I get all of the arguments about how they over achieved in the middle of the season, how this year really is a step forward, but damnit, this collapse is so dispiriting. It really is a punch in the gut and will really end up leaving a terrible taste en everyone's mouth. The city really did get behind this team but there will be lots of "why bother anymore, same old Pirates". Sooo depressing.

You gotta give the Buccos credit. Every night they're going to lose in some kind of nutty way. That squeeze tonight was a special kind of stupid...even given how crazily we've been losing lately. I for one can't wait to see how we do it Friday night. The thing is we're running out of options. Maybe a hit batter followed by 3 straight balks. That's pretty much all that remains. What a wasted opportunity. LOL Pirates.

Stats that may interest only me: as of this loss, the Pirates are back into a negative run differential for the season. That says all I need to know about where we are heading....

LOL, beat em I seen it first hand while I was working storm trouble up in and around new York a couple playoff seasons ago. I was at a bar in a place called secaucas or something in new Jersey across the Hudson bay and fans were flipping out over Yankees having a bad game. As a baseball fan I was sickened. If they only knew what it was like to lose constantly

I have a observation NO ONE has had and or mentioned from last night's game:

Why did A.J. throw a pitch UP in the strike zone catching a lot of the plate to Scott Rolen with a runner on third base with one out?

That, after the Pirates in their AB's immediately before who had Presley on 3B with a one out triple, decided to try a sacrifice squeeze bunt (a dumb move IMO) which the Reds successfully read resulting in the Pirates looking foolish.

The Reds scored their runner from 3B with one out executing a successful SF by Scott Rolen (with help from Burnett who practically handed the Reds the run) and the Pirates not scoring their runner from 3B because of a highly questionable squeeze play.

Those were the critical moments of that game and the difference between which team was going to win and which team was going to lose.
