Got to say, this one just hurts. I can share my frustrations (not swinging the DAMN bat over the past 10 games, or losing to teams we expected to beat, or giving up HR's in late innings), but it is obvious to everyone that this just isn't finishing the way we want.

46 years of being a Bucco fan, and I've been hurt many times before. But today... this one just got to me. Still have the faith (barely), but taking this one hard this afternoon. Depressed. Sure could use one of you guys to give me something positive today.

Steelers at 8:20 pm

This could be one hell of a terrible sports weekend.

The Browns blew it, as usual.

All is right in the world.

This game sure will break your heart. We're on the right track. We really are, this is no B.S. Kevin McClatchy message of false hope. We've markedly improved each of the last 2 seasons. We'll be better next year as well. Someday, we will remember this year as "growing pains".

I don't want them in the playoffs now. They would just get mauled.

But I don still hold out hope of finishing over .500.

I think .500 officially died today. After they get swept by the Reds, they are only two games over.

But, we are 6-6s with the Reds, and won the season's games against the Cardinals. I think the Bucs play up (or down) to the level of competition. So, having said that, we will take 2-3 from the Reds!!!! Pennsylvania dreamin'!!!

This team isn't close to being a legit playoff team or especially a WS contender. Don't expect one anytime soon either. Our best hitting prospects are in A ball right now, if that.

Plenty of reason for pessimism, but no need to concede anything. Houston just beat the Reds 5-1.

I've had a busy day at work, and was able to get some distance from yesterday's game. It still hurts, and I don't agree with our approach at the plate. Too many first or second-pitch fastballs being taken for strikes. I don't have the numbers in front of me, but I'd be willing to bet that a good portion of our at bats over the past 10 games have been from behind in the count.

I'd like to see more aggression at the plate. What do we have to lose? Come out swinging and get on some first-pitch fastballs.

I don't feel any better about this series against the Reds than I did yesterday, but this team has made some magic this year that none of us expected. I'll take 1 out of 3 in Cinci, but hoping for 2 out of 3.

Not done yet. Zoltan! Go Buccos.
