What a difference a couple games makes, huh?? Bucs do what they have to against the Astros to take the series. I wonder what might have happened had they kept Correia in the rotation instead of Bedard way back when? Some guys preferred that if I recall! lol! Good pitching. Just enough hitting. Some nice defense. Winning combination. Throw in a Cardinals loss and the Bucs are just one game back from the wild card. And did you all hear?? Billingsly is out for the year for the Dodgers!

STARTER: Kevin Correia. Great Start. Six innings. Just 4 hits and 1 walk. Just one earned run. Man, if the starters can get back in a groove, the last month is going to be real exciting!

WINNER: Kevin Correia gets the win to improve his record to 10-8, with 4.28 ERA. Not bad for your bottom of the rotation guy!

Honorable Mention: Lots of little contributors tonight to help this win. Brock Holt went 1-3, plus a sac bunt and a sac fly. He drove in two runs. Barmes hit out of the #2 spot tonight, and went 1-2. He drove in a run on a perfect squeeze bunt and also scored a run. Solid D as always. Hughes had 2 scoreless innings of relief, striking out 2.

STAR #3: Alex Presley had a really nice game, hitting out of the 8 spot of the lineup. Went 2-4, inclluding a triple that scored Barajas from first!!!. He drove in a run, and scored 3.

STAR #2: I am giving it to Kevin Correia. He was instrumental in this win. In addition to his pitching, he hit a sac bunt that contributed to a run.

STAR #1: Gaby Sanchez went 3-4 and drove in a run. He also started a very nifty 3-2-3 double play at a very pivitol time of the game. Considering both factors, giving him the #1 star.

It pains me to say it, but I think that Barmes deserves the #3 star over Presley. Perfect suicide squeeze, a hit, good defense and a 25% increase in his season walk total in one game!

He difintly looked better at the plate when getting better pitches.

And Presley in the 8 hole gives the bottom of our lineup a chance.

Based on yesterday's game, I certainly agree.
