His .557 OPS is the lowest in all of baseball for players with at least 300 PA's. There are seven players with SLG higher than his OPS.

He is the ONLY player that has less than 10 BB's with that many PA's as well (a whopping 8).

His K:BB is historically high...92:8. Since 1962 only ONE player has had a worse BB/K rate (Rob Picciolo of the 1979 A's)!

His OBP is 20th worst since 1962 for players with 400 PA's.

Amazingly, his defense ranks high enough that he has a positive WAR (0.3)

Well, the strikeout thing is pretty freakish. And while his 2009 season, I think, was pretty good (32 doubles and 23 HRs) he is squarely in Mark Belanger territory. And I don't think he is as good a fielder.

OMG. Belanger is dead. Well, learning that is a major downer...

I just hope he's not on the team next year. Give the younger guys a chance. The question I have is could it get any worse than Barmes? I don't care about his numbers, my eye test tells me he does nothing for the ball club in a positive light. Hack away Barmes. Really says something about the organizational scouting system that he was the best option in the offseason.

Hurting the club by keeping Barajas around just so he can catch for Burnett once every five days is pathetic. How's that been working out lately?

You need two catchers, and if the staff ace has a preference for one, that's fine by me. McHenry has gotten more starts lately, but it did seem for a long time that Barajas was getting too many starts.

That was when we thought McKenry was going to be a career backup catcher. A correction has since been made.

BTW, Tony Sanchez has a broken toe at the moment, its not supposed to be a serious issue, though. I'd love to see Sanchez get some games to see if we need to spend at C this winter.

So why did Rod start when Locke pitched the other day after McKenry tore it up offensively the day before?

Because Barajas' uncanny resemblence to Alfred Molina subcounsciously makes Hurdle think that he'll perform like a Molina?

It appears the Fort got Hurdled again this evening. Only reason Barajas is a mainstay in the lineup is because Hurdle asked for him in FA & would look bad if he was benched. He is very Lebeau-esque in his love affair with ghosts of former players starting. Guaranteed big snack starts asap whether Steve McLendon or Ta'amu are better or not.

Loved the squeeze play however. Don't see that much anymore, or properly executed.
