Very disappointing. On the plus side, none of the 4 contenders for the 2 NL wild-card spots is exactly setting the world on fire right now, so we are by no means out of playoff contention. But, although there is significant improvement, we are still several bricks shy of a load here.

I would be alot less frustrated if the losses weren't coming the same fashion(s) over and over.

Furthermore, why'd it have to be the Brew Crew that swept the Bucs???

I don't get this team. They're making me feel more and more like Alec Baldwin in Glengary Glen Ross.

'The wins are out there, just waiting for you! Take them! Are you man enough to take them?!'

Screw the 'Stros and Cubs---sweep the next two series'.

Letsko!

Enough playoff talk. This team just isn't good enough yet. Another awful outing by j-mac. Another costly error by Pedro in the first inning.Yes I know other teams aren't exactly steller right now. But i'm just being realistic. They play like little leaguers at times. I really hope they finish with a winning record. It would be nothing more to set this franchise on the right path. BUt there are too many holes in this line-up. Need to build around walker, Jones, Pedro and cutch. And AJ and joel on the pitching staff.

Our hitters just are never hot at the same time. Early in the season it was mccutchen carrying the team. Then it was walker. Then it was Jones, now its pedro. Seems like when one of them is hot, the rest are in a slump.

You're right.

DEEP SIX the season!

And I respect realism (and realistic expectations).

Lord knows it's tough not to be realistic (or pessimistic) right now, with the Pirates sucking the last... what? 20 now?

Still, I think there will be plenty of time for realism, hindsight, etc. once the season is over.

 It's not over yet folks! 30 to go! Just 1.5 out with an easy six (AT HOME) coming up (plus six more @ CHC/HOU)!

This team 'controls its own destiny'. Win the ones they should and... see my signature.
