Still, there's little reason to think a 50-year-old who hasn't pitched in the bigs in five seasons is going to be able to tame the best hitters in the world. To put a finer point on it, should Clemens sign with Houston, then he'll likely be employed by the only team he could survive against on the mound.

This line made me chuckle...

You know, it's hard to have a whole lot of enmity for a team as awful as Houston, but if they put on this dog and pony show and sign Clemens, that'll do it.

The depths of Clemens' "Look at me" persona finds no bottom...

Now that the perjury case is over, he has to find some other way to get into the spotlight. He has officially passed Barry Bonds as the biggest 'roid douche ever. At least Bonds keeps a fairly low profile now.

If he starts for them, I hope it is against us, and at PNC Park. I'd love to take my son to see one of the best pitchers ever in MLB. But, I'd also like the fact that the Bucs would probably have Clemens run out of the game in the 3rd inning and we would stomp them. That would be the icing on the cake. :D

If, and I think it's a HUGE if, he actually pitches again...I would almost guarantee he does NOT go on the road. He would pitch in Houston only.

I was at the FIRST Major League game of Roger Clemens.. a chilly May night at Cleveland Municipal Stadium. And it was my first Indians game!
Seats were cheap, no fans. Lots of fun!

This is about one thing. Clemen's ego says he is a first ballot HoF selection. There is no way that happens in the current environment. Pitching a game resets the time he is eligible and buys him time for the way people look at steroid users.

We have a winner. Plus, it keeps him in the news, and that's a bigger ego issue for him.

We have a knack of making some shitty pitchers look like Cy Young.
