Will be the first time that they've beaten the same team two games in a row since beating Cubs on 7/31 and 8/1.

And ... It will be only the second series win in August - both of which came against the Cardinals.

Not to mention an 8-7 season series win which is a tiebreaker for the Wild Card.

Its the tiebreaker for home field in a one game playoff, not the WC tiebreaker.

It's actually is the tiebreaker for the last wild card spot. If the Cardinals and Pirates finish tied for the last spot, there is no play-in game. They season series would send the Pirates to the playoffs.

No, that's not correct. I checked last night. If the Bucs and Cards finish tied for the last spot, there would be a play-in game; based on the Pirates' win in the season series, though, that play-in game would be in Pittsburgh. Google "mlb tiebreakers" to see what I'm talking about.

That is very possible.

I believe you Judge. I mean it's very possible that they end in a tie. I will take whatever edge I can get on them....it would have been better if we were automatically in, but I will take playing a playoff game at home, if it comes to that!

The pirates have played well vs the cardinals. Not the case vs Brewers and Padres for what ever reason.
