For how bad Pedro was in the metrics, he still managed 30 HR's. I think if he gets better in some of his weaker areas, we're going to be in business. Marte will be a fun player to watch, too.

It is going to have to be a good year for McDonald, and any other young pitcher. We need our pitchers to step up, can't be relying on the likes of Burnett/Wandy/Karstens by next season.

Agree with all that but think we need Gabby and/or Snider to return to their best form.

Wandy's contract includes next year. Burnett says if he pitches next year he wants to do it here.

Yeah, but at what cost and performance level? Got two young studs coming up through the system, and then any number of young AAA/AA arms that need to step it up and fill in the other spots. Shouldn't have to worry about 30+ year old pitchers being a big part of our rotation next season. So hoping guys like Locke and McPhereson can get settled.

If Wandy and Burnett still want to play, and are still pitching at a decent level, and they are the #4 and #5 in 2014 because the prospects are what we expected them to be, I'd take them in a heartbeat and hope to have the NL's best rotation.
