Gotta tip the cap to the Cardinals. They lose Pujols, deal with injuries, sit behind the Reds and Pirates at third in the division for 3/4 of the season, keep plugging away and get the wildcard. Their reward was to play a one game play in, only to then get handed the winningest team this season.

They take the Nats to game 5 where they were down big and calmly come back to win it.

I look forward to the day our players come up clutch under pressure instead of choking. Our guys can't even handle the pressure of winning.

Yeah, when Beltran hit that double, I knew they were going to win. You gotta hand it to them, they are the major league's toughest team. So when Molina, who didn't have a great series, gets his walk... And they're tough from top to bottom.

Sad night for me last night. I was hoping for a Nats - O's series, and both were knocked out. Ugh. I did have a silver lining as I got to parlay both defeats into some great sympathy sex from the wife.

Jeez...if your wife puts out when your team loses you must of been very busy in August & September with the Pirates losing every night.

She knew the Bucs were a lost cause before I did...

They sure do seem to be clicking and are never out of the game. I despise them less with LaRussa gone.

Never forget the Cardinals are the second most successful team in post-season play in the history of baseball. Only the Yankees are better.

Not to mention the loss of LaRussa and Duncan. Not much help from Berkman, either. Impressive indeed.
