The Unofficial Pittsburgh Pirates Message Board

Should have been fixed sooner.

Pirates are up 2-1 in the 7th

I am disappointed with not making the playoffs, but I am happy with .500. But I am not satisfied with it and ready to celebrate it.

This should have been a 90 plus win team if that bullpen didn't suck so bad for so long.

Skenes did hit 200 K's for the season as well.

Skenes' final outing of 2026:
6.1 innings, 3 hits, 1 run, 2 walks, 8 K's on 96 pitches.
Tied at 1 in the 8th.

Tied at 1 in the bottom of the 6th.
Skenes with his best outing on the year that I can remember.

6 innings, 3 hits, 1 run, 2 walks, 7 K's on 90 pitches.
Lowe with an rbi scoring Cruz.
Cruz has two hits and stole 3rd base.

I think Cherington is back next season.
I think his lack of urgency of fixing the bullpen should have cost him his job.

They probably have 90 wins at this point instead of 80 and are pushing for a division title.

Lowe, Montgomery, Magnum for Burrows trade
Ke'Bryan Hayes trade (worst hitter in MLB)
Drafting Skenes and Griffin
Signing Griffin to an extension
Sticking with Cruz
Flores trade
O'Hearn signing

If the bullpen could have been fixed sooner, the results would be a lot different.
Then add in Griffij and Cruz's injuries.
