The Unofficial Pittsburgh Pirates Message Board

Raise it. One last time. Winning record for the first time since 2018. Could have done more. Yes, the NL was better than usual. Yes, the bullpen was horrific the first half of the season. Yes, Skenes showed he is human. Yes, the rotation was disappointing at times. Yes, the hitting was the best it h...

Really solid MLB career.

Made $48 million over his career

His ERA ranked 27th of eligible pitchers. His WHIP was 17th. His BA against was 16th.

Skenes final numbers:
10-11, 3.82 ERA, 32 games, 1.12 WHIP, .227 BA against.

Not an awful year, but by his standards not a good one.

A win to end the home schedule. Pirates clinched 3rd place. Home record 44-37.

Guaranteed not to have a losing season for first time since 2018. Chance for a winning season with one win over Detroit in final series.

I think his lack of urgency of fixing the bullpen should have cost him his job.

They probably have 90 wins at this point instead of 80 and are pushing for a division title.

No doubt he is back. Nutting isn't paying two GMs during a lockout.

Case for not returning him. -One season with a winning record as a GM in both Boston and Pittsburgh -Selected Henry Davis, Termarr Johnson, Tom Harrington with first round picks -Traded Starling Marte to Arizona for RHP Brennan Malone, SS Liover Peguero -Traded Josh Bell to Washington for RHPs Wil C...

Losers again

Don Kelly is definitely an idiot. Skenes is pulled for the 8th. Soto loads the bases. They pinch hit with a righty. Kelly leaves him in. Walks in the tying run. Hits the next batte for the go-ahead run. MISMANAGEMENT at its finest. If this game wasn't the epitome of the season, I don't know what was...

Math doesn't work. The hole is too deep. Even with this win, they would have to go 12-4 and get some help.

The early bullpen issues along with the injuries doomed them to another disappointing season.

Re-sign Lowe, but that will never happen. You need to get a power hitting third baseman than move Gonzales to 2nd.

I would not sign him. Great player. Just got a feeling once he gets the money, his laziness will only get worse.

Pirates have had 1st and 2nd with nobody out in four out of five innings. Zero runs.

Not one sacrifice bunt either.

You can't make this shit up

Just move on to Flores

This was a good win despite the bats disappearing. But that's why you have an ace. And that's why you have a freak like Cruz.

Too little, too late, though!
